Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Sorry for the delay in posting, we have had some illnesses going around our house and I just have not had the energy to do much.  Also, I have been having some issues trying to get pictures loaded up.

New Years bring new starts, new opportunities and fresh ideas.  I like resolutions, but hesitate to make them because they tend to always get shifted to the back burner and then forgotten about.  This year, instead of resolutions, I just have some thoughts on things I would like to do to enjoy life.

1. Try to do something active everyday.  Whether I get to the gym or not (which I have been doing on a regular basis, and loving it, thanks again Mom and Dad), I want to just keep moving.  Play with the kids, skate on the lake, play tag or chase, have a dance party in the basement, whatever... do something everyday.

2. Simplify life.  I want to declutter, organize, and downsize things to help gain perspective on what is truely important.  Life is so hectic, I want to be able to appreciate all that i have and not get caught up in stuff, and plans and keeping up with everyone else.  Just enjoy and live in the moment.

That is all.  Not a lot.

Here are some of the simple things we have been enjoying so far this year...

Wil's first "real" picture
(He drew his family, "with a sunny blue sky, the car and the garage")

Relaxing on the couch

A nice warm bubble bath!

Cuddly Froggies!

Movies in Mom and Dad's bed

Breakfast in the dining room
(just because)

The race car stroller at the mall

Noodle fingers

A good bowl of soup on a cold day

  1. I really appreciate and echo your desire to "simplify"...I think it can only help us as we attempt to maintain a clear focus on what truly matters. (and, it helps, that decluttering and organizing are pretty fun activities in and of themselves!)

    All the best in 2013!!!
