What a Weekend! (Part One)

The Ramsay Family was full of fun and excitement this weekend!  We packed a lot in, and it was really fun.

Saturday morning we woke up and didn't really know what to do with ourselves, we had a few small errands and other things to do, but they didn't seem like that much fun on their own, so Daddy suggested we go to Heritage Park.  We got passes the last time we went and it was supposed to be a nice morning, so we headed out.  It was so great.  We got there right after it opened and the kids wanted to head straight for the rides (since we have never tried them before).  It was perfect timing because it was not busy at all, so we got to go on every ride, some a few times and the boys loved it. After the rides, we went to the bakery, got some fresh buns and ate almost all of them while we waited to ride the big "choo choo train".  We rode the train, then we got to make ice cream the old fashioned way, and finally had a quick play in the park before heading back home.

(this was just for kids, so they went all by themselves!  My big boys way up high)

After supper that night we went down to the "little" lake and put the fishing rod in the water.... it was really windy so we didn't last long, or catch anything, and I forgot my camera, so I don't have pictures, sorry.

Sunday we had already planned to go to the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller to see the dinosaurs.  Wil was very excited, so we got ready and got in the car, loaded our movie up and headed out.  The drive seemed VERY long to Wil who was excited and extremely impatient.  Even Finding Nemo wasn't "keeping him interested enough".  It was one of those "are we there yet drives".  We did finally make it, and as soon as he was let out of the car he was off and running and I don't think he stopped until we got back in the car.  The museum was great, but Wil and Carson were going  through at top speed, I am not sure how much they got out of it.  They were excited, lots of "look mommy" and "ooohs and aaaahs", and Carson literally tried to climb into all of the exhibits! It was really hard to get a picture because they would not stand still for longer than half a second.

"Look Mommy, the Dinosaur with the sails on his back!"

Wil seeing how tall he is compared to a dino leg

Carson's turn

Carson's favourite dinosaur
(it's really cute the way he says "Stegasaurus" in a loud, grumbly voice)

Two more favs

After the turbo tour through the museum, we went outside to look around a bit.... my pictures haven't transferred from my phone yet, so check back tomorrow for part two of the weekend adventures and pictures from "DinoFest"!
