This year is no exception, although my reflections took a slightly different turn. This weekend I lost my Grandma Dalrymple. She had been struggling all week and finally let herself go Saturday morning. My Grandma was the center of many of my thoughts over the weekend. Especially surrounding the meal. Grandma was the world's BEST cook (sorry Mom, you are too). She had a way of making every meal feel really special, even if she only made you a sandwich, it came with garnishes and a fancy napkin. For as long as I can remember her mashed potatoes made my mouth water. They were so fluffy, just like eating clouds. I always strive to duplicate these whenever there are family meals. This Thanksgiving I tried again. They are not the same, but I think I might be getting closer. Mashed potatoes weren't the only thing I thought about my grandmother this weekend, but I will write a blog for her after the funeral, after I have been able to say good bye and process things a bit more.
Some of the other things I am thankful for (not a complete list, but highlights)
- fall leaves
- hearning my children laughing
- amazing family and friends
- knowing I am surrounded by love
- a husband who takes good care of me and our children
- health and happiness
The two best things in my life enjoying some quiet time together on the couch
A nice fall walk
(Carson looks so grown up pulling his wagon)
Yay for big piles of leaves!
So fun!

Carson LOVES cars... loves them. He drives everything around at home and Brrrm, Brrms. Needless to say he was very excited in Grampa's Garage! Can you see the little expression on his face, so cute.
Just hanging out in Daddy's old Mustang
