Four!

Yes, four! Last week on September 27th Wil turned 4! It is a number I am struggling with a little bit.  It is a bigger milestone than I thought it would be.  It is an official departure from baby/toddlerhood and a full entrance into "kid".  He has grown into "kid" in many ways over the last year and has changed quite a bit. It has been amazing to watch.

Silly 4 year old!

At four, Wil is happy, smart, funny, outgoing, athletic and definitely has a mind of his own. He likes things to be in order, thrives on routines, doesn't love change, but will try new things, and likes to make sure everyone is doing things they way he thinks they should be done!  Wil loves playing all sports, but mostly hockey and will play street hockey (or living room hockey) with Daddy for a long time and it always ends in a shoot out, and for some reason Daddy's goals never count!  Wil also loves going to school, playing with his friends, and learning new things.  He can write letters, numbers and is starting to write words, he can read (he actually read most of his own birthday cards this year which blows my mind even though I know he can recognize a lot of words).  Wil loves to tell jokes and entertain people, he likes making people laugh.  Still loves singing and dancing and will sit for a long time playing music on the iPad and singing a long.  He is also a car singer... he will sing along to songs he knows on the radio, and it is really funny to watch how into it he gets.

Wil is a good brother.  While they have their moments and don't get along 24/7, Wil loves his little brother and does a good job of taking care of him.  He will talk to Carson, teach him how to play certain games or help him when he is frustrated.  They make each other laugh, and Wil always makes sure Carson has what he needs.  He gives him hugs and kisses and cuddles.  He has a big and caring heart and it is so nice to see him looking after his little brother so nicely.

I can't believe that four years has gone by so quickly, it seems like Wil was born yesterday and now he is a handsome, intelligent boy.  We couldn't be more proud of the person he is becoming or love him more.

On his actual birthday (since the party was a few days later) we went to the Little Cupcake Shop and got special cupcakes
