So there was a little Wedding....

I know I have missed a few weeks of blog posts... but June seems to be continuing full steam with the too busy to catch my breath! It all started with a little wedding on the last weekend of May....

Catherine and Ryan

On May 31st my "little" cousin Catherine got married.  We have been close since we were quite young.  Our parents liked to hang out and build stuff and renovate things and cottage and drink wine/beer.... so us kids got to hang out a lot too.  It was always fun.  I always remember when Catherine was little wanting to play hair and make-up and as soon as they would get to our house we were upstairs with my moms make up bag and my crimping iron.... let me just say.... I'm sure she is glad that I do not have pictures of that to post on here right now!! As we grew up we continued to stay close even though we were often in different cities and far away.  It was an exciting weekend and I was so glad that I was able to go to Ontario and celebrate this huge event in Catherine's life.  (Also that I was able to go and really enjoy it all because I wasn't chasing my little ones around.  Don't get me wrong, I missed them of course... but I was able to participate fully in all the wedding fun without worrying about keeping them happy and on their routines).  It was a fabulous wedding, with a stunning bride, handsome groom, amazing food, awesome speeches, and lots of fun with family and friends!

My pictures are not the greatest.... you can tell which ones are from early in the night and which ones are from later... apparently the flash on my phone camera really does not work well at all!!

It's official... papers are signed, kisses exchanged!! Congratulations Mr and Mrs. Wood!!

Post ceremony smiles!
(So fun to spend time with Srimati and Traci)

At the reception.... beautiful view and gorgeous sun!
(Yes Srimati did have a costume change... into her cocktail party dress!!)

The "Night of Selfies" begins
(I don't normally take selfies... but someone, I forget who, it might have even been me, declared it the night of selfies, so here they begin!)
(With Srimati and Krista)

Another happy couple.... with almost 20 years together under their belts!
(yes, that's right, 20 years... these two have been together for more than half their lives!  Amazing!)

My lovely parents!

Finally a moment with the beautiful bride!!
(Weddings are so busy for the bride and groom, but I did get to spend some time with the bride and even shared some midnight poutine with her!!  My first time ever having poutine! It was so yummy!)

Another cousin selfie
(Reece)

I have no caption for this picture... I just really like it!!
(Nicole, John, Srimati)
(I also think it is a bit funny that the "expansion" teams of younger cousins are now all old enough to drink... this made me feel REALLY old, but it was also fun to hang out with them as adults now... even though they will always be my little cousins!)

Sister in law selfie
(too much wine!!)

Awwwwwwww....
(Reece and Pierce)
(These were my original "babies" before I had my own babies. I babysat these two when there was only one of them... starting when Reece was just a little baby.  Then along came Pierce and for the next several years, until they were old enough to not need me anymore, I looked after them when Uncle Tom and Aunt Ruth needed to escape... I mean, have a night out.  They were really good training to prepare me for having two boys of my own.... and it is sometimes funny how similar my boys have been/are to these boys.  I fully knew what to do with a toddler and a colicky baby!  It is pretty amazing to have been a part of their lives and to see them grow into such handsome young men.  While they are both taller than me now, I'm pretty sure they would still watch a Disney movie with me and sing along to Backstreet Boys songs!!)

Cousins
(Not even all of us... but a solid representation of the older ones)
(We are such a good looking family!!)

Sibling selfie while waiting for pizza!
(Because clearly the giant meal, midnight poutine and cake did not make us feel full enough, so we had to order pizza! Seemed like a good idea at the time... then I fell asleep on the couch!!)

It was a fun party, such a great wedding and I am so happy for the Woods!  Can't wait to see them again soon when we are home in the summer!
