The boys got a nice surprise when they came home... a Cadillac, and yes it actually drives! Now they cruise the neighbourhood listening to tunes on the fully functioning radio!
(can you say spoiled?!!??!)
We went to an awesome wedding
(Congrats Nick and Jen!)
Got some gas in our trike at Heritage Park
Popcorn picnic in the grass.
(Did I mention Wil is obsessed with popcorn?!?!?)
Happy Birthday to Daddy!!
(Please note Wil covering his ears while singing and blowing out candles. He can sing at the top of his lungs but he thinks the song is just too loud to listen to!!)
We went to the Calgary Corn Maze and saw some kittens.
Carson learned to peddle all by himself... no stopping him now!
We worked on our "Bye Bye Binky" project to help Carson get rid of his soothers.
They are decorating a box to put most of the soothers in to give to a new baby that needs them.
packing them up
(he was such a big boy doing this, no tears and was really proud of his little box for the baby)
With the last 4 soothers (minus one we kept for just nighttime) we headed to Build a Bear to let Carson "buy" a homemade bear with his soothers. He put one special one inside his "Bunny Wabby". Again, he was such a big boy, he did awesome here. No tears, no hesitation in giving his soothers to the girl... it was great. I was very hopeful. He also "bought" a bear for William.
Giving their new friends a bath.
So much fun for our first time at Build a Bear.
Caron with Bunny Wabby's paper work and giving him a snuggle in the carwash
(as a side note... we went from a stash of 20+ soothers, 5 or 6 in bed with him every night, to just one for sleeping only. I had reservations about him going cold turkey because he is so very attached to soothers, and nothing else really so we decided we would keep him to one just for bed, and then go from there. I did try the first nap with Bunny Wabby and no soother to see what would happen, but he got so upset that he frantically tried to rip the bunny open and get the soother out. I decided that instead of destroying the Rabbit, we would allow the one soother for a few weeks and see if he loses interest. It is working well and we are happy with the progress. He rarely asks for one during the day, and if he does, it is a short lived whine, and he moves on. He also just leaves the soother in his room and doesn't even ask for it generally until after bath time. Progress we can live with.
We harvested some of our vegetables. Peas, beans and the smallest carrot ever!
We made funny hats
Another trip to Heritage Park.... apparently this was a very relaxing swing... pretty sure Carson is asleep in there!
Hanging out on the boardwalk!
Our special treat when we go to Heritage Park is to pick 4 candies from the candy shop. The boys love this and it only costs us 80 cents!
Being the cutest brothers ever and getting along great.
(this was the nicest brother morning ever. They played so well and were so nice to each other. I even overheard Wil from the other room saying, "Carson, I just want to hug you. I really love you, you are my best brother!"
(sob)
We have had some fabulous bed head!
and played with our friends!
(Safety first for these boys!!)
(you can tell they are getting older and their mommies more relaxed by the fact that they were even allowed to do this, and do it for quite a while!! They were careful and there were no injuries and really nice turn taking!)
There, now you are all caught up, and I feel better getting back on track with the blog. It is so much easier to blog in the moment than from too far back, it felt like it was getting away from me so now I feel better!
The weather is going to be beautiful for the next week or so, hopefully there will be a few more fun summer adventures coming our way before back to school and activities and more structured life!
