Mish Mash Week

Every week I have sort of had a theme in mind to write about.... this week however, nothing really came to mind.  We have been busy playing with friends, getting organized for the holidays and Christmas, and doing lots of laundry (I think the clothes multiply in the basket!).  The boys and I went to meet Santa and have our picture taken.  Carson was quite happy to go to the strange man with the big beard, Wil however was not so sure.  He was REALLY excited while we waited for our turn, then when the time came he decided he wanted to go home.  Luckily there was no line behind us and Santa and his helpers were very patient.  Wil talked to Santa form a distance, then watched Carson get his picture taken, then got mommy to sit on Santa's knee, took a picture with Mommy and Carson, and then finally sat right on Santa's knee for a photo with Carson (and my hand), and he even told Santa he wanted a toy for Christmas.  Then after all that he sat with his box of cookies and talked about how much fun it was to meet Santa and how he was such a nice man!  This year I think Christmas is going to be a lot of fun for Wil.

Here are some photos of what we have been up to.

Carson is starting to sit pretty well so we are working on baths in the big tub.... this is the boys first tubbers together. They were both quite excited to be in there!

Wil starting to look and act more like Daddy every day!!!  Hahahaha!!

We went to the new Telus Spark Science Centre to check things out since we had so much fun at the one in Toronto.  Wil had a great time and did not want to go home, we got a pass so we can go back whenever we want to.

My happy little Santa!

Being Santa is funny!

Do you know your hockey teams??

Our house is a sports house.  Plain and simple, it is a sports house.  Sports are watched on TV, they are played and they are talked about.  I grew up in house that was sporty as well, I remember times when my Dad would bring an extra TV downstairs during the College Football Bowl games just so he could watch more than one at once, so this is nothing new to me.  I knew what I was getting myself into, especially since promises to watch football were written into my wedding vows!  Having two boys has so far sealed the deal for sports as well.  Wil LOVES sports.  He asks to watch hockey and football on TV, he can name teams by looking at the logo and loves to ask Chad, "What's the score Daddy?" He also plays hockey and soccer in the basement and can't wait to skate on the rink Daddy is building in the backyard. Carson perhaps has not yet made up his mind about sports, however he does like to play with the mini hockey sticks and kicks at balls when he is in the Jolly Jumper, so it might only be a matter of time.

My Dad and Jason (my brother from another mother.... and father) recently had a bet on a football game, the Detroit Lions vs. the Chicago Bears, the outcome was that the losing team had to buy outfits for my boys from the winning team.  Jason, the Bears fan, lost, so he had to buy us Lions outfits.  (Either way I came out on top, so it worked great from our end!)  It was also stipulated that said outfits be displayed on this blog.... so here are our Little Lions Fans.

Wil loves the camera... this is his "cheese" face in his Lions hoodie.

The littlest Lions fan
(Thanks Jason for the cute football gear!  Anytime you guys want to make a bet that I win either way, go right ahead!!)

Weekends during the fall and early winter are football days. We do get out of the house most of the time, but when we are here, football is on.  Chad is most often found on the couch, and the boys like to cuddle and watch football with him too.

One of many football Sundays with Dad.

Hockey is the other big sport in our house.... and right now Wil is really enjoying hockey (playing and watching).  He likes to give his own commentary sometimes too... saying things like, "nice pass" or "he scored it in the net" or "he blocked it in the net".  His favourite part of the game though is still the Anthems at the beginning, and he gets quite upset if he misses them.  He gets ready with his flag and microphone and just stares at the TV when they sing.  Pretty cute.  Wil also likes to play with the mini hockey sticks... and he has become quite familiar with some of the teams.  I am pretty sure the Leafs are his favourite...

I really like the way he pronouces some of the names with his little toddler slang!!

Hopefully soon, since it has been so cold, we will be able to put up some photos of Wil skating on his backyard rink!

Catching up back Home!

Since being back from Ontario we have been working back into our own routines.  Things have been busy... adjusting to the two hour time change, then daylight savings the same weekend, then Wil got a bad cold, then Carson did, then I did (lucky Chad managed to escape it) and then Wil did again.  Carson also had his 6 month shots.  Needless to say, sleep has been elusive for all of us, and so has time to myself to catch up on my blog!  We also have had a nice visit from the Ramsay Grandparents and a  fun birthday party for my Great Niece Charlotte... yes that's right, I am a Great Aunt at the age of 35!  Phew! This week we are working on groceries and errands and just getting back into our normal lives.  We have starting thinking about some strategies to help Carson sleep better and longer at night, and are hoping over the next month that solids will help him with this as well.

Here are some photo highlights of the time we have been back home!

I call this series "Helping Mommy Unpack!"

Step one: climb into suitcase

"where did Wil go?"

I feel like this one is one of those "what is wrong with these photos" photo that I should send to Ellen!

Anthem Singing with the hockey game, his flag that goes everywhere with him (Thanks Auntie Baub) and the new Grover microphone.  In addition to O Canada, I think Wil knows more words to the Star Spangled Banner than I do and he is getting pretty good at singing the French version too... this kid is just amazing!!

We are working our way into solids with some veggies now... mmmmmm, peas!

Carson wants to crawl so badly... he can get his arms up, or his bum way up, but not quite at the same time yet... I am sure it will happen soon though!
(Note the drool all over the couch, trying to crawl is slobbery work!)

One more for the road....
Soooooooooo tired after Charlotte's party!

I promise to try to stay on top of this blog now that things are getting back to normal!  If we can all stay healthy and get some sleep I should be able too!!

Ontario Adventures

The Ramsay family was in Toronto for 3 weeks (mom and the boys for all 3 and dad for 10 days) and we had tons of fun adventures.  We are so fortunate to have such amazing family and friends in Ontario, that put up with us for that long and that take time out of their busy lives to visit with us.  Thanks to everyone, it means so much to us and (for me anyways) it still always feels like coming "home".

Here are some photo highlights of the trip... it was a whirlwind!

Wil in his firehouse tent - it was a great place to read, "sleep" and eat snacks.
