Series of Photos...

One of the things I love best about digital cameras is that you can take a ton of pictures of the same event and then review them later and keep only what you want.  Sometimes though, having a "series" of photos tells a fun story.  Here are a few of our "stories" from the week.

We got a new Fire Hydrant sprinkler...

Wil taking his first run through a sprinkler

Lots of squealing and screaming!

Carson testing the "waters" from the edge

"feels pretty cold"

"It's okay Carsie, you can do it, you just have to run in the water"

Carson's first "run" through the sprinkler

"That was fun Mom, but I think I am done now"

Carson is very busy and tends to find trouble very easily, it only takes him a few minutes to find it too... he is fast and creative.  This is what happened while I tried to clean up breakfast dishes...

Step one: push laundry basket into playroom and tip over

Step two: climb up to try to peek out window

Step three: try to climb up onto window ledge

We have really been enjoying the lake and the nice weather.  Here are some pictures of our Saturday at the lake...

Safety first!
(Wil was excited about his new water wings and floaty ring, he wore them both)

This is the furthest he has ever gone out!

"I'm swimming mom!!"

And finally, a few pictures just because I think they are cute!!

Playing "trucks" on the beach

The boys love playing chase around the house, now that Carson can walk, it is way more fun.  Although Carson is pretty much trying to skip walking and just move right to running!

After dinner mini ice cream cones!
(Thank you Chapmans for making a peanut free line of ice cream so Carson can enjoy some too!)

Catching up...

Just a bunch of pictures to catch everyone up on things from the past few weeks....

My favourite "cheese" face!!

Snackin' on the beach

Carson starting to figure out the iPad too!

Looks so cute in his little underwear!!
(doing great with potty training too!!)

"Mommy, I need to go Potty!!"

So tired after missing an afternoon nap, fell asleep in the stroller on an after dinner walk!

We went to hang out at a campsite for the day with the Johnstons and brought Carson his Pea Pod tent to nap in, this is what he did instead... apparently the tent is way too fun for sleeping in!
(He didn't nap that ENTIRE day!)

Waiting for Daddy to come home!

Peek - a - boo!
(Carson, being the monkey he is, likes to climb half way up the stairs, STAND UP, and then peek at your from between the railings.)

Still love sleeping pictures!

Carson LOVES using utensils, and he also rediscovered his love of applesauce, so he used his fork and spoon to shovel it into his mouth.

Best Buds!

We had our kids close together... this was done intentionally.  Yes we knew we would be busy, and TIRED, and run ragged for the first few years, but our hope was that they would grow up being good friends and that they would always look out for each other.  Now that they are getting older, and Carson more interactive, I am starting to see glimpses of the friends we hope they will become.  Of course there are still moments that are less than perfect, and sharing is a huge challenge that we are working on everyday, but all that is overshadowed when they randomly hug each other, or Wil starts singing to Carson when he is crying, or they are giggling in the back of the car together dancing to songs on the radio.  There is nothing more satisfying than seeing my boys play together and hearing them laugh.

Random kitchen hugs.

Carson is so in love with Wil, he wants to do whatever he is doing.

"Wet's pway crawling together.  You crawl Carsie and I will follow you!" (Wil)
Their own made up version of follow the leader, it is so cute and they both squeal and giggle!!

Two dudes hanging out at the beach covering their legs with sand.
(excuse the shadow of me in the photo, I need a professional to follow me around to make up for the terrible photos I take!!)

Airplane Rides
(they take turns pushing each other around, again squealing and laughing, SO cute!)

"folding" laundry for me!

Playing "Treasure Hunt"
"Carsie, come look at the treasure I found!"

"Mommy, can I hold Carson? Good Morning Carsie, I missed you while you were sweeping."

Looking forward to all the years to come and seeing how they grow up together!

Family Photos

We got some family pictures done a few months ago by a good friend of mine's husband - Scott Frank.  He is awesome and takes great pictures, I will use him for all my family photography needs and highly recommend him.  Even when your two year old won't cooperate and your one year old runs out of steam, he still manages to get some great shots. I have been meaning to put these up forever... Here are the highlights for you!

Milestones!

As a parent, you are very often focussed on "milestones", especially when you are around other parents.  I have learned, with difficulty sometimes, that EVERY baby is different and they all get where they need to be in their own time.  One of my favourite milestones is walking! I LOVE new walkers.  So wobbly, kind of like zombies, arms outstretched, grinning from ear to ear, beaming with pride and discovering this new form of freedom.  Both of my boys were late walkers.  It is torture waiting for them to walk, but I have learned that it is a milestone you just can't rush.  This weekend, Carson decided it was finally time, yay!!  He took his first steps last night and it wasn't just one or two, he took a whole bunch, a whole bunch of times!  He figured it out and decided it was fun, so walked back and forth between mommy and daddy about 10 or 15 times.  This game we played again today and a bunch more tonight.  He laughs the whole time and is so very proud of himself... makes me teary eyed as well.  Of course, as parents of the technology age, we got some video!

Carson Walking!
(He achieved this milestone 3 days shy of being 14 months)
(how cute is he!?!?!?!)

I decided to go back through old videos and find the ones of Wil's first steps.  He actually did his first big walk when I happened to be away in Toronto... the only weekend I left him in 14 months, he started to walk!!! I love this video too, but it makes me a bit sad to see how far my "baby" has come and how very quickly he has grown up!

Wil's first steps!
(He achieved this milestone at 14 months to the day!)
(Also, how cute is he?!?!?)
