Bikes, bears and beds.

We have had more sunshine, more snow, some rain and everything in between.  That is pretty typical of spring in Calgary... so we are still doing our best to go outside when we can!

Carson's Happy Place - on his bike

We drew a chalk city on the driveway, complete with roads, schools, malls and lakes... it kept the boys busy for quite a while!

Sunny day??  Back to the Zoo!

My little Bears!

Soccer started Wednesday
(It was freezing... the poor kids... but Wil still seemed to have fun and scored his first goal of the season!)

We taste tested some gluten free, dairy free, egg free cupcakes for Carson's upcoming birthday party (we have a few guests with some restrictions and we don't want them to miss out on cake)... although I will not be serving them this cake... it was NOT good.  Aside from being heavy as hockey pucks, they just did not taste right and it felt like you were eating dirt, the texture was weird.  Not good.  It was my first attempt at baking this way... I have since called in some "experts" with more experience in this type of baking, hopefully that will help me
(at least the boys had fun decorating them... and the icing was good)

"Look Mommy, I a scary monster"

Last sleep in a toddler bed!

Ready for his bigger big boy bed... time to convert the once crib, now toddler bed, into the full sized bed!
(The boys were very helpful with their tools.... Wil was right in there reading instructions and telling Daddy all the steps he needs to follow!)

Yay!  Big bed like William's
(testing out the "bounce" and organizing his friends)

Cute little goalie

Ready for the first sleep.
(I know it is not the best picture... but I love Carson's face... he is SOOOOOOO excited!)

Last skating class of the year! Way to go little skaters!!

Wil got to go to a friend's birthday party at a play place.
(Him and his buddies were so cute playing this racing game)

Three boys in a bed.... this is becoming the new "thing to do"... everyone read in Carson's new bed!

Looks pretty small in the big bed!
(He seems to keep sleeping/waking up sideways... I am wondering if it is because that is how his body faced in the toddler bed and he just naturally reorients that way while he sleeps... or if he is taking advantage of all the space... either way, its pretty cute!!)

Happy Easter!

We had lots of Easter fun this year... from a Superhero soccer class to start our Good Friday, then a blizzardy drive to Red Deer, building snowman to finally having the sun come out and playing outside.  Oh, and a visit from the Easter Bunny too!

The NHL Playoff have begun!
(I have seen this a lot already and the playoffs are two months long!! These two love their hockey!)

Easter Bunny Love!

We got haircuts for Easter!
(Before and after)

Happy Haircut... Carson doesn't even look like the same kid!

Playing in the ball pit at Beaners Salon
(This totally grosses me out... but these boys were having tons of fun)

Decorating Eggs
(Wil found one of my old teaching books that is about 365 crafts to do, and he has been marking off pages.  He found a page with tissue covered monster eggs and wanted to make those.  They are painting their eggs very carefully with glue)

Drawing Monster faces on the covered eggs
(they were both so careful and so focused)

A happy boy with his happy monster egg

Checking to see if the "baby chicks" are hatching

Very carefully bringing the completed monsters to the fridge
(Carson normally does everything at top speed and is not all that gentle, but he was super careful with these eggs and walked very slowly, and was really quite proud of himself for being able to put them in the fridge all on his own.)

It was Superhero Day at Soccer Tots, Carson wore his Batman shirt and a cape
(Wil joined the class too and has discovered the joys of "photo bombing")

Ummmmm.... a blizzard in Red Deer so Grandpa and Wil built an awesome snowman and had a snowball fight!

Carson... Nothing stops this kid from riding his bike!

Okay, one morning later it's sunny and the snow is gone.... this province is crazy!!
(Wil and Daddy playing road hockey, shooting over the "wooden" goalie)

We found a "Momstown" Easter fair, Carson was the very first one in line for face painting and knew right away that he wanted a tiger! ROAR!!

Playing a little tball!
(Getting ready for his upcoming season, which should be starting in a week or so depending on the weather)

More bike riding!

Decorating some more eggs... the old school way!
The boys really enjoyed this!

I love that Wil made a "love" egg! He is so sweet!

Their finished eggs... all of Carson's got dropped, so when Grandma Red Deer eats them this week, they will be colourful on the inside too!!

Easter Egg Hunting!

They were so good at this and worked really well together.  Wil was really helpful for Carson, and shared lots of his eggs with him too.

Every boy needs some giant sticks to play with!

Showing off their NHL dog tags from a giant chocolate egg!

Eating the giant egg!
(No, I am a mean mom and I did not let him eat all of it!)

Back home and enjoying our first outside picnic on the new patio furniture!
